Editorial standards and sources

F1 Tools is an independent project built and maintained by Wosca. It provides graphics editors and race-data analysis tools. It is not affiliated with Formula 1 or the FIA.

What the tutorials document

The tutorial library explains the tools implemented on this site: their controls, layouts, file sizes and export behaviour. Worked examples use sample values and generated graphics. A sample grid, result or lap time should not be read as a race report or an official classification.

Documentation should identify the relevant tool, explain the steps that produce the example, and state limitations that affect the result. A layout based on a broadcast reference is a recreation; it does not establish pixel-for-pixel identity with the source.

Race data and visual references

The graphics generators use values entered by the visitor. The Data Lab methodology describes the separate race-data providers, calculations and missing-data behaviour. Broadcast frames and F1 artwork used as design references should be linked in the relevant walkthrough.

Bundled driver artwork, team logos and fonts come from external sources. Their inclusion does not transfer ownership or grant a licence for every publishing use. Visitors should use photos they have permission to publish and identify fictional announcements as concepts or parody.

Corrections and archived posts

Report incorrect instructions, missing sources or broken exports through the contact page. Include the page URL and the expected result so the issue can be reproduced. Substantive tutorial corrections should carry an updated date.

Older race commentary is kept outside the current tutorial library and labelled as archived. Its race claims have not been reverified as part of the graphics documentation. Use official event results to check those claims.
