Haas Reveal VF-26 Toyota Partnership

Haas F1 Team switches to Toyota Gazoo Racing partnership for 2026, unveiling the VF-26 with a predominantly white design replacing the MoneyGram era.

Haas F1 Team has unveiled the VF-26, featuring a revised livery that marks the start of their partnership with Toyota Gazoo Racing.

The American squad released digital renders showing a predominantly white design with red accents, replacing the black-and-red scheme used during the MoneyGram era. Toyota branding appears prominently on the sidepods and rear wing.

Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman will pilot the car when it debuts at Barcelona shakedown later this week. The team confirmed the VF-26 completed a brief installation lap at Fiorano last weekend.

Team principal Ayao Komatsu described the Toyota deal as crucial for long-term development. The Japanese manufacturer provides technical support rather than a full works engine, with Haas continuing to use Ferrari power units.

This marks Toyota's return to F1 after withdrawing as a manufacturer team in 2009. The partnership is initially confirmed through 2028, with options to extend.

Haas enters their 11th season in Formula 1. The team has not scored a podium since 2015 and finished ninth in the 2025 constructors' championship.

Why the Toyota tie-up matters

Technical partnerships can shift a team's ceiling in the new regulations. Toyota brings engineering depth, simulation resources, and manufacturing support that can help Haas accelerate development. Even without a full works engine, the collaboration provides additional tools to refine aero concepts and operational processes.

What to watch early in 2026

If the VF-26 shows improved long-run balance and fewer operational issues, it will signal that the partnership is already paying off. Trackside updates in Bahrain and Australia should reveal whether Haas can move closer to the midfield pack.

The extra Toyota support may also influence how quickly Haas can deliver mid-season upgrades. In previous years, slower update cadence has limited progress. A tighter development loop could be the difference between occasional points and consistent Q2 appearances.
